CompareDukeOS vs Odoo

DukeOS vs OdooUpdated October 2026

Odoo alternativeSet up by asking, not by a project.

DukeOS and Odoo both put many business apps in one system. Here is how they differ, and when Odoo is the better fit.

01In short

The answer, first.

Odoo alternative

DukeOS is an AI operating system for business: CRM, bookings, invoicing, stock and WhatsApp in one app, set up by describing your business to Duke, an AI that acts only with your approval. Pick Odoo for full accounting, manufacturing or a large open-source ERP; pick DukeOS for a service or retail business that wants AI doing the work.

03Which one

When to choose each.

An honest answer: both are good software for different businesses.

Choose Odoo if…

  • You need full double-entry accounting, payroll, manufacturing or MRP in the same system.
  • You want an open-source ERP you can host and change freely.
  • You have the budget and time for an implementation project.

Choose DukeOS if…

  • You run a service, membership or retail business: a gym, clinic, salon, agency, institute or shop.
  • You want to be live in days, set up by describing your business, without consultants.
  • You want WhatsApp and an AI teammate at the centre, not added on.
  • You prefer one price per business over per-user pricing.

Moving from Odoo

Export your contacts, companies, leads and products from your current system as CSV files. In DukeOS, the Imports app maps each column to a field, shows a preview of what will be created, and then imports in the background, without starting any automations. Duke can also set up the pages and pipeline stages you used before, so your team sees familiar names on day one.

04Pricing

One price per business.

Not per person or per customer. Building your app is free: you pay when you publish.

06Questions

Common questions

Is DukeOS an ERP?

DukeOS covers what most small businesses use an ERP for: customers, sales, invoicing with GST, stock per branch, projects and bookings, in one system with an AI assistant. It does not include a general ledger, payroll or manufacturing, so businesses that need those should look at a full ERP.

Is DukeOS open source like Odoo Community?

No. DukeOS is hosted by SmartDuke, or developers can take a paid source licence: the full code with a year of updates and support, to host and change for their own named clients. It is a licence to use the code, not a transfer of ownership.

How long does it take to set up DukeOS?

Most businesses are set up in an afternoon. You describe your business to Duke, and it enables the apps, creates pages and pipeline stages and drafts automations for you to approve. A guided setup service is available if you'd like us to import your data and connect WhatsApp for you.

Can I import my Odoo data?

Yes. Export contacts, products and other records as CSV and use the Imports app, which maps columns to fields and previews the result before importing. Duke can recreate custom fields and pages you relied on.

What does DukeOS cost compared with Odoo?

DukeOS is $49, $99 or $199 a month per business (plus GST in India), with every app in every plan. Odoo's paid edition is priced per user, so the comparison depends on how many people use it.
