Managing your team
Who can manage the team, giving and changing roles, branch roles, deactivating people and the owner rules.
Everything about your team is in Settings → Team and roles, with three tabs: People, Roles and Branches.
Who can do what
Managing the team is split into separate permissions, so you can choose exactly who handles it:
| Permission | Lets someone |
|---|---|
| See the team | See who's in the team |
| Invite people | Invite, resend and cancel invitations |
| Give and take away roles | Change people's roles |
| Manage people | Deactivate and reactivate people, reset their two-factor |
| Create, change and delete roles | Edit the roles themselves |
| Manage branches | Add, change and remove branches |
Owners have all of them. Set them in the Team and roles area of a role. See Roles & permissions.
Owners
- The built-in Owner role always has every permission.
- A business always needs at least one active owner: the last one can't be removed or deactivated.
- Only an owner can reset another owner's two-factor sign-in.
- To make someone an owner, give them the Owner role on the People tab.
Roles per branch
A role can apply to every branch or only one. Someone can be a manager at one branch and front desk at another by holding two roles. See Branches.
Deactivating people
When someone leaves, click Deactivate on the People tab. They can't sign in any more, and everything they did stays in the records and the audit log. Automations they owned stop working, so switch those on again as yourself if you still need them.
Plan limits
Your plan may limit how many active people your team can have. If you reach it, you'll see “Your plan's limit is reached. Upgrade to add more people.” Deactivated people don't count.
