Email: sending in your business's name
Email customers from their page, use templates, and see what was sent on their timeline.
About this app: Email on the SmartDuke site
Emails from SmartDuke go out with your business's name as the sender, and replies come back to the person who sent them. Every email is kept on the customer's page.
There's nothing to set up: email works from the start.
Email a customer
- Open the customer's page and find the Messages card.
- Click Email followed by their first name.
- Choose Start from a template if you have one, or write it yourself.
- Enter the Subject and the Message.
- Click Send email.
The form shows who it's going to and reminds you that replies come to you. Emails are plain text.
Statuses
An email shows Sending… while it's queued, then Sent or Failed with the reason. Your timeline shows “Email sent” with the subject. Opens and reads aren't tracked for email.
Where else emails come from
- Help desk replies are emailed to the customer. See Help desk.
- Automations can email customers, for example a renewal reminder. See Automations.
- Duke can prepare emails, one per customer, each waiting for your approval. You can approve them one by one or all at once.
Good to know
- The sender name is your brand name from Settings → Brand.
- Emails are sent from SmartDuke's address with your name on them; sending from your own domain isn't available yet.
- In the demo businesses, emails are recorded as sent but never leave the server.
Ask Duke inside the app, or write to us and a person will help.
