Projects: boards and tasks
Create a project, shape its board with your own columns, and add, assign and move tasks.
About this app: Projects on the SmartDuke site
Each project has its own board. Tasks move across the columns as work gets done, and a “done” column completes them automatically.

Create a project
- Open Projects and click New project.
- Enter the Name and a Description.
- Under Who and when, choose a Customer (optional) and a Due date.
- Click Create project.
Every new project starts with three columns: To do, In progress and Done. The person who creates a project is its owner.
The Projects page shows Active projects by default; switch to On hold, Completed or All. Each project shows its progress, how many tasks are done and how many are overdue.
Shape the board
- Add a column with New column at the end of the board.
- Use a column's ••• menu to Rename it, Move left or Move right, Delete it, or mark it Tasks here are done.
- A board can have up to 12 columns and needs at least one. Move a column's tasks elsewhere before deleting it.
Add and move tasks
- Click + Add a task at the bottom of a column and type the title.
- Click the task to open it, then add Notes, choose who it's Assigned to and set a Due date. Click Save.
To move a task, drag it to another column, or use the Move to… list on the card. You can also use the keyboard: focus the card, press Space, use the arrow keys, and press Space again.
Moving a task into a done column completes it; moving it out reopens it. A task past its due date that isn't done shows Overdue in red.
Change a project's status
Open the project and choose Active, On hold or Completed. Edit changes the name, description, customer and due date. Delete removes the project and its tasks.
Good to know
- Duke can create tasks for you (you approve them first), and the daily insights point out overdue tasks.
- Assignees aren't notified automatically today, and subtasks, comments, attachments and recurring tasks aren't available yet.
Ask Duke inside the app, or write to us and a person will help.
