Asking Duke

Open Duke from any page, ask in plain words, let him use the page you're on, and approve the changes he prepares.

On this page

You can ask Duke anything about your business in plain words: “Which leads should I follow up today?”, “Who hasn't visited in two weeks?”, “Draft a renewal message for Priya.”

Where to ask

  • Ask Duke in the top bar opens Duke's panel beside the page you're on.
  • The ask box on Home, with suggestions such as “What should I do first today?”.
  • Assistant in the menu opens a full-screen chat with your recent chats on the left.
  • Buttons on pages ask Duke a ready-made question, such as Draft a renewal message on a customer whose membership is ending, Summarize on a lead, or Fill the class on a class with places left.
  • Search (Ctrl+K or ⌘K): type a question and ask Duke from there.

You need a role that can use the assistant. The panel's subtitle reminds you: it sees only what you can see, and changes wait for you.

Duke knows the page you're on

When you ask from a customer, company or lead page, Duke knows which one you mean. On Priya's page, “Summarize this customer” or “When did she last come in?” is enough.

Ask a question

  1. Click Ask Duke.
  2. Type your question and press Enter (Shift+Enter for a new line).
  3. While Duke works, you see what he's looking up, such as “Searching contacts” or “Reading the lead”, then his answer.

Click Stop to stop him mid-answer, New chat to start fresh, and Recent chats to go back to earlier conversations.

When Duke prepares a change

If you ask Duke to do something, such as “Schedule a call with Priya tomorrow at 10” or “Move this lead to Proposal”, he doesn't do it straight away. He shows a card with what approving will do and the status Waiting for your approval.

  1. Read the card.
  2. Click Approve to make the change, or Reject.

When he prepares several changes at once (for example 12 renewal emails), you'll see Approve all with the number.

The card then shows Done, or Couldn't be done with the reason. See Approvals for the details.

Your chats are private

Your conversations with Duke belong to you. Nobody else can open them, owners included. The audit log records that a chat exists, but never what was said. To delete a chat, click the bin next to it in Recent chats.

Good ideas to try

  • “What should I do first today?”
  • “How are sales this month compared to last month?”
  • “Which classes are full this week?”
  • “Which invoices are overdue? Draft a polite reminder for each.”
  • “Create a page for equipment checks with date, machine and notes.”
  • “Who changed this customer's phone number?” (with the audit log)
