Online payments: let customers pay invoices online
Connect your own Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay or PayU account so customers pay invoices from a payment link, and website bookings and orders can be paid online.
Connect your own payment account and your customers can pay online: from an invoice's payment link, when they book or order on your website, and when they renew in the customer app. The money goes straight to your account, and each payment is recorded on the invoice for you.
Connect an account
- Go to Settings → Invoices → Online payments.
- Choose a provider and click Connect Stripe, Connect PayPal, Connect Razorpay or Connect PayU.
- Paste the details from your provider's dashboard:
- Stripe: the Secret key (it starts with sk_live_ or sk_test_) and the Webhook signing secret (whsec_…).
- PayPal: the Client ID, the Secret and the Account (Live or Sandbox).
- Razorpay: the Key id (rzp_live_ or rzp_test_), the Key secret and a Webhook secret you choose.
- PayU: the Merchant key, the Salt and the Account (Live or Test).
- Copy the Webhook address shown on the card into your provider's webhook settings, so payments are confirmed even if a customer closes the page.
- Click Test connection. “It works: the account accepted the keys.” means you're ready.
- Tick Offer to customers.
A business in India sees Razorpay and PayU first, others Stripe and PayPal first. Razorpay and PayU take rupee (INR) invoices only, by UPI, card, netbanking or wallet; invoices in other currencies use Stripe or PayPal.
Send a payment link
While something is owed, each invoice shows its Payment link with Copy link and WhatsApp buttons. The customer opens it, sees only that invoice (number, lines, amounts and due date) and pays. The invoice is then marked paid, with the provider's payment as the reference.
Automations can include the link in reminders with `{{invoice.pay_link}}`, and Duke can find it for you. Sending it is still a message you approve.
Good to know
- Only a payment confirmed by your provider, for exactly what's owed, counts as paid.
- If a customer pays after the invoice was already paid another way, the payment is kept on the invoice's timeline so you can refund it with your provider.
- Your keys are stored encrypted and never shown again; only their last four characters appear.
- Disconnect stops customers paying with that provider. Payments already made stay recorded.
- You need full access to invoicing settings. Demo businesses can't connect payment accounts.
Ask Duke inside the app, or write to us and a person will help.
