Setting up your business with Duke
When you sign up, Duke asks a few questions about how you work, shows one plan to approve, and builds your app in about a minute. It stays a draft until you choose a plan.
On this page
When you sign up, Duke sets up your app with you. He asks a few questions, shows you one plan, and builds it once you approve. Nothing reaches your customers or team until you publish.
1. Sign up
- Go to the sign-up page. Under Create your account, enter your name, Work email and a Password (at least 12 characters). We email you a code: enter it and click Verify.
- Choose What kind of business?, then enter the Business name, Your address (your web address, for example yourname.smartduke.app), Country, Timezone and Currency. If you like, Tell Duke about your business.
- Click Create my business.
2. Answer Duke's questions
Duke asks about how you work, one question at a time: what you sell and your prices, your branches and team, how customers book and pay, what tends to slip, which channels you use and what's still on paper. Type an answer or tap one of the Quick answers. He skips what you've already told him.
Your app so far on the side shows what he's planning as you go.
3. Check the plan and build
When he has enough, you'll see Your app is ready to build: the apps, pages, pipeline, automations, agents and menu he'll set up, all from what you told him.
- Untick anything you don't want.
- To change something, click Change something and say what, for example "make the trial class paid, ₹300". The list updates in place.
- Click Build my app.
Building takes about a minute. Nothing is sent to anyone while Duke works, and you can close the page: he carries on. Anything he couldn't set up is listed under What I couldn't set up, so you can add it later.
4. Your app is a draft until you publish
You can use everything while you build: add customers, plans, classes and pages, and try Duke. While it's a draft:
- Emails and WhatsApp messages to customers are recorded but kept inside.
- Duke on duty can be set up but not switched on.
- Members can't sign in to the customer app yet.
- Team invitations are saved and sent when you publish.
When you're ready, go to Settings → Plan and billing and click Choose a plan to publish. Pay, and your app goes live as it is: nothing is rebuilt, and your invitations go out. See Billing and your plan.
Ask Duke inside the app, or write to us and a person will help.
